Description:

This very rare cranberry cut-to-clear plate measures 6-inchs square by 7/8-inches tall at the up-turned ends.  It is a very well-crafted plate of unusual shape with a vivid cranberry color.  The clear, crossed bars are convex in cross section and taper to a point at each corner.  Their thickness, in relation to the surrounding glass, gives a three-dimensional effect to the design.  The plates are deeply-cut and  very well-polished; they are some of the best Val Saint Lambert pieces we have viewed. 

 

This is 'old glass' -- a clear, white, blown blank with color that is precisely-cut and entirely wheel-finished.  An unusual and very rare spot of color for your collection.
