Libbey "Stratford" Low Bowl
FSG1012
Condition: EF
Price: $775.00
W.C. Anderson designed "Stratford" for the Libbey Cut Glass Co. The design was patented on December 3, 1889 (No.19450). "Stratford" is always precisely-cut on very fine Libbey blanks, is completely wheel-polished and the major miters are extreme in their depth of cut. It is not a dainty design -- it is bold and handsome. "Stratford" is a rare and very collectible design that Pearson rates 2 for rarity (very rare) and 3 for quality/price range (one of the most desirable). Page 127 of Pearson's Vol. I shows the patent design and a rectangular tray in "Stratford." If you like 'old' glass, this is a delightful design to acquire.
The low bowl is 9-inches in diameter, stands 2 1/2-inches tall and weighs 3.5-lbs.
