Description:

This most unusual ruby-to-clear ovoid decanter features a bird -- probably a kingfisher -- diving toward a fish in a pond.  The engraving, which is cut into but not through the ruby casing, has a matte finish.  The well-crafted repousse silver bears a Kirk & Son Co. trademark; they were a long-lived prestigious firm from Baltimore, MD.

The decanter stands 8-inches tall with the stopper and measures about 5-inches long by 3 1/2-inches wide.  There is no internal discoloration or residue and the handle is perfectly attached.  There are no defects other than a slight amount of wear on the bottom of the decanter.  This is one of the very best engraved colored pieces we have seen.
