Pairpoint Amber-Colored Candlestick

FSG1713

Condition: BTEF

Price: $395.00

Description:

This 10 3/4-inch tall candlestick has an amber color that intensifies as the glass thickens.  A most unusual candlestick that is engraved with a vintage design on the stem.  The base displays the grape leaves, vines and tendrils; the top flange has a circle of unconnected ovals.  Both the top and bottom rims are original and the entire stem is hollow.

This attractive, very well-crafted candlestick has been identified by ACGA member Patty MacDonald.  It is a product of the Pairpoint Corporation of New Bedford, MA.  The information was found in The Essence of Pairpoint Fine Glassware 1918-1938 by Marion & Sandra Frost.  The candlestick shape is 'No.1600' as shown on page 59; the design name is "Grapes" (page 138) and the color is 'auroria' (page 166).

Thank you Patty for this very accurate identification.  We appreciate your efforts!
