Description:

This beautiful piece of American Brilliant cut glass has a shape that is often called a jelly comport.  Its deep ruby-red-to-clear bowl is visually suspended above the clear glass, eight-sided stem and base.  The stem has an elongated teardrop; the base has a deeply-cut, 24-point radiant star.  The comport stands 8 1/2-inches tall and has a top diameter of 4 1/2-inches; the bowl is 1 3/4-inches deep.  The stem and base fluoresce a deep apple green indicating a blank of American origin; the cutting house and design are unknown.  An unusual and attractive piece of a deep, rich, ruby color for your collection.
