Signed Hawkes Tall, Green, "Vigilate" Wine

Description:

This beautifully-crafted, 6 3/4-inch tall wine with a 2 3/4-inch diameter flared top has a stunning, deep-emerald-green bowl with six "Flute"  or "Colonial"  panels.  One of the panels has a 5/8-inch tall, copper-wheel engraved fighting gamecock.  The detailing is incredible -- the beak, the eye, the comb and the leg spurs are all shown.  Beneath the 'chicken' is an ornate banner with VIGILATE in block letters.  It is signed on the base -- which has a 48-point radiant star with varied-length rays -- with the acid-etched Hawkes trefoil.  Both the top and base rims are original.

This is a rarity on three counts:  1) a solid-green bowl, (2) a copper wheel-engraved bird and (3) it is a colored piece with a signature.  I wish we could tell you more about the piece but there is no reference material, dealer or collector that has shed any light regarding the wine.  A remarkable display piece for sure!
