Old "Table Diamond" Solid Green Clarets
FSG2911
Condition: BTEF
Price: $295.00
This very finely-crafted claret is cut in the old "Table Diamond" design used by several of the early, leading cutting houses. The cutting is of the early style and is evidenced by the stem which has six vertical flutes without notching at the intersections. Later in the Brilliant Period, most all cutting houses started notching the intersections as it was easier and less costly than trying to keep the intersections straight. The base has a 24-point radiant star and all the cutting is precise and entirely wheel-polished.
The claret stands 5-inches tall and has a top diameter of 2 3/4-inches. A clue to the identity of the blank manufacturer or cutting house is the position of the faceted knob on the stem. Instead of being just under the bowl, it is about 3/8 of an inch lower than the knob one usually finds on a stem. Information on a cutting house or blank manufacturer would be appreciated. An interesting claret whose color intensifies as the glass thickness increases. Enjoy!
We have two of the "Table Diamond" clarets available at $295/each
