Description:

The Pairpoint Corp. of New Beford, MA cut this fine American Brilliant cut glass comport in their "Persian" design.  A "Persian" comport with a shorter stem is shown on page 32 of the Pairpoint catalog (an ACGA reprint).  This comport stands 9-inches tall and has a top diameter of 5 3/4-inches; the notched stem has six flat panels and the base has a 24-point hobstar.  The deep cutting on the bowl is polished to a mirror-like perfection and the blank is typical Pairpoint -- clear and water-white.  The comport is heavy to the hand and is very well-cut in an unusual and interesting design.
