J.D. Bergen "Premier" Horseradish Jar
FSG3609
Condition: BTEF
Price: $225.00
What a surprise! This piece was thought to be a mustard jar. Page 11 of the obscure 1899 J.D. Bergen Co. catalog shows the exact item labeled as "Premier," Horseradish Jar. A copy of the Bergen catalog page 11 will be sent with the jar.
Assembled, the jar with its faceted-knob lid stands 4-inches tall; it has a maximum diameter of 2 1/2-inches. The bottom of the lid has a 16-point hobstar. The "Premier" design is deeply-cut for its size on a clear, water-white blank that is heavy-to-the-hand. Unlike a large percentage of this size and type of jar, this is an American Brilliant Period blank that fluoresces the requisite apple green color; it also has clarity and brilliance.
