This is a fine sugar and cream set that is very well-cut on clear, white blanks; both the sugar and the cream are signed Tuthill.  The set is cut in Tuthill's "Phlox" design as shown on page 122 of Pearson's Encyclopedia of American Cut & Engraved Glass, Vol.II.  Both of the double-notched handles are perfectly attached.  The base of each piece has a 16-point radiant star and shows only very minor wear marks.  A delightful set that showcases Tuthill's ability to combine geometric and realistic design elements.
