A New
Feature on the Website
Since there are
so many new items to post to the website, we have been putting
them on slide shows so that they are promptly available for your
viewing. Unfortunately, none of these items could be
accessed thru the many 'Advanced Search ' features of the
website. We have now decided to list all the existing
slide show items in a new category called 'Previous Slide
Show Items' which will make them accessible from the many 'Advanced Search' features (see the Home Page left-hand
column...... )
The slide show items
have one photo, the inventory number, the size, the condition
and the price. We will be happy to provide additional
photos and/or information for any item or items -- just let us
know ! You can call us at 503-246-9930 or email us at
biden@brilliantglass.com. Suggestions or comments regarding the website and
this new category will certainly be appreciated.........
As of
January 18, all previous slide show items have been entered into
the new 'Previous Slide Show Items' category.
Don't forget
to check our 'Newly Posted Items" category also!
(updated 05/07/08)
Also view the "All Items" category that is listed in the left column so
you are able to view a very large selection of American Brilliant
cut glass with extra photos and a description.

NEW INFORMATION
*
You might
enjoy viewing Dorflinger cut glass from the collection of Ray
LaTournous that is shown on the Wallenpaupack Historical Society
website at
http://wallenpaupackhistorical.org/GlassMain.htm
The files of
Martha Louise Swan contained a 1991 catalog for Yasemin Cut
Glass. The brochure states: "OLD American cut glass
is back!" We have scanned the pages of the
brochure for your review. A link is in the left-hand
column under the 'fake glass' articles.
Our
redesigned website
now has many features:
-
Items are now indexed by
color-to-clear,
rarities,
silver-adorned,
newly posted items
or
all items.
-
You may also
search for items by
cutting house, by shape, by newest items added to the
website, by key words or by our inventory number.
-
While browsing through the site, you may
click on any item for larger, more detailed photos.
-
If you find an item you want to share with a
friend or want to save for your own viewing later, our new
“email a friend” feature is great. Just click the “email a
friend” link located on any item page, fill in your
friend’s—or your own—email address and click ‘send.’
Try it out!
-
You may click away with abandon and
eventually explore the entire website. If you would like
some information regarding how to use specific features of
the website, you may click on “navigating
our website” which is located on the
left side of the home page.
Please be
sure to read the 'Discussion of
Condition' section that explains the terms "EF" and "BTEF"
that are used to describe the condition of each item. As stated in a
1987 article by Carl Fauster, well-known author and cut glass
authority, "If all collectors will look for
the important features of a piece of collectible glass, using common
sense regarding imperfections and avoiding the term "mint," it
will be more realistic for all collectors, both beginning and advanced."
If
information printed from our website does not 'fit' your page,
please see 'Navigating The Website'
in the left-hand column for printing suggestions.
We hope you
enjoy our updated website and encourage you to
email or call us with your
questions and comments. |
