  • Quaker City 'Roosevelt' Vase - FSG7019

  • Quaker City
  • $0.00

  • THIS  PIECE  HAS  BEEN  SOLD

The very collectible “Roosevelt”  design was one of the finest designs cut by the Quaker City Cut Glass Co. and is rarely seen.  One of the finest cutting firms of the American Brilliant Period, Quaker City is known and appreciated by collectors for the unusual shapes of their vases.  This flared-top, bulbous vase stands 12-inches tall, weighs 12-lbs. 3-oz. and has a maximum diameter of 9 1/2-inches.  It has a 24-point radiant star on the base.  It is very well cut on a fine, heavy and water-white blank.  The “Roosevelt”  design is difficult to photograph because its wood-finished, extra-deep and very wide miters reflect the light more than normal cutting.

This classic vase was named “Roosevelt Globe Center Vase”  in the catalog.  It was offered in a 6, 8, 10 and 12-inch size, with this vase being the 12-inch size.  It was offered for sale at $33.75, a very high price for the times (ca.1909).  The price reflected the extraordinary and unusual blank and the sharply curved, deep and bold cutting of the outline miters.  An exceptional addition to your collection.
